VACANCY: PARISH CLERK/
RESPONSIBLE FINANCIAL OFFICER
(SCP 11, £21,166 pro rata p.a.) Part-time (8-15 hours per week, flexible) 3.30-6.30pm Monday to Friday, plus attendance (virtual or otherwise) at Parish Council meetings.
Datchworth Parish Council is a dynamic, forward-thinking and proactive Council at the centre of a local community. Steeped in history, Datchworth is a quaint village, with pubs, village stores, a coffee shop and even a museum.
We are now seeking a highly organised and committed individual to undertake this key role. You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, organisation and management of the Council’s services, facilities and finances.
You will need to be enthusiastic, flexible and community-focused with a hands-on style and sound administrative, inter-personal, finance and IT skills (Microsoft Suite) in order to work successfully with Councillors, external organisations, stakeholders and community groups.
Ideally, you will have experience of working in the Public Sector, perhaps as a Parish Clerk or Deputy Clerk looking to further your career or a similar environment, such as a principal authority, and possess or be willing to obtain the Certificate in Local Council Administration qualification (CiLCA) within 12 months. Other Local Government qualifications will be considered. Evening meeting attendance is required. This is a home-based role.
