A602 Improvements Scheme – Section B: Watton-at-Stone to/from Tonwell – Notification of Sacombe Pound Road Closure – Monday 8 June to Saturday 13 June
Hertfordshire County Council is progressing with the final phase of the A602 Improvement Scheme, Section B between Watton-at-Stone and Tonwell and main work is expected to begin this summer by our contractor Interserve Construction Limited.
Over the past months we have been undertaking preliminary ecological and vegetation work. As part of this work, a daily off-peak road closure of Sacombe Pound will be put in place from Monday 8 June to Saturday 13 June. Between 9.30am to 4pm each day, Sacombe Pound will be closed from the A602 Ware Road junction to Sacombe Green Road. A diversion will be in place via Munden Road / Whempstead Lane / Whempstead Road / A602 Ware Road and the same in reverse. The road will be closed when signs are in place. Full details of the closure and diversion can be found: https://one.network/?tmi=14871902
Our team is working alongside Hertfordshire County Council’s Network Management Team to try and keep traffic disruption during this time to a minimum. Please give extra time for any journeys.
We will send you updates about the upcoming main work road closures and changes in the coming week.
Hertfordshire County Council is working closely with their contractors to follow government guidance on best work practices and social distancing. As part of the work to start on site, teams have put in place a range of procedures to protect staff and the public including social distancing measures, wearing protective clothing and increased cleaning regimes. They have also been asked to reduce contact with the public, so if any members of the public have any inquiries they should be directed to our dedicated email address:
