Hertfordshire County Council is progressing with the final phase of the A602 Improvements Scheme, Section B between Watton-at-Stone to Tonwell, with work expected to start on site in summer 2020.
To meet design standards and ensure the safety for road users, Hertfordshire County Council is putting forward a proposal to introduce a 50mph speed limit running from the A119 roundabout to just south of the Stony Hills junction of the A602. The proposed speed limit has been reviewed against the Council’s Speed Management Strategy and endorsed by the Hertfordshire Speed Management Group, that includes the Police and the Road Safety team.
To change the speed limit, an application for a Permanent Traffic Regulation Order (PTRO) has been submitted and in line with statutory requirements, a consultation on the proposals is being held between 26 March to 18 April 2020. The proposal can be viewed in greater on the TRO web-page.
Objections to the proposals should be made in writing to:
Terry Curtis, Postal Point (CHO242), First Floor, East Link Corridor, County Hall, Pegs Lane, Hertford, Herts, SG13 8DN
Comments received in relation to this proposal only (the 50mph speed limit) will be considered as part of the decision-making process and recommendations to the scheme Sponsor within Hertfordshire County Council.
