DATCHWORTH GREEN CAR PARK USE AND EV CHARGING
Thank you to the many who are using our new car park to visit the village shop, the Plough Pub, Datchworth Museum, Datchworth Green and the lovely walks that can start from it. By parking off the nearby roads, you are helping make Datchworth crossroads a safer place.
DPC is pleased to confirm that EV charging is now available in the car park for use at a cost of 55p per kWh.
The car park is located at 8 Datchworth Green, Datchworth, SG3 6TL. The charging post is located near the left-front of the disabled parking bay. It has two charging points.
You will need your own charging cable. Parked appropriately vehicles in both the disabled parking bay and the bay next to it away from the road will be able to charge at the same time, both at the rate of 7.4kWh.
If the disabled parking bay is not using a charging point and only one point is in use, if you park appropriately and your cable is long enough, you can park and charge in the second standard bay away from the road, if it is free.
You can stay and continue charging overnight if you need to.
Instructions about how to use the charging points are on the rear of the post.
You will need a smartphone to:
- Scan the QR code on one of the charging points on the front of the post.
- If you have not previously downloaded the “Monta Charge” app you will be invited to do so.
- If you have the “Monta Charge” app installed, follow the instructions in the app.
- Finally, make a payment in the app by Apple Pay, Google Wallet or by entering your credit or debit card details.
- A holding payment will be taken. The amount will depend on how much charge you have said you wish to take. This will be adjusted to what you have taken when you finish charging.
