Burnham Green is a small hamlet under the joint management of Datchworth Parish Council and Welwyn Parish Council.
This pretty village is located between the villages of Datchworth, Tewin, Digswell, Woolmer Green, Welwyn and Bramfield and holds an annual fete each year in August. The fete is well attended and even includes a fly past with a Spitfire – an event not to be missed!
There is one pub called ‘The White Horse’ which nestles unobtrusively in the corner of the Green. The village shop sadly closed in December 2017 and was replaced with a few houses and the wonderful beauty Salon ‘Olive & Bay’.
For younger residents and visitors, there is a play park adjacent to the Village Hall, which has play equipment for a variety of ages.
The historical Village Hall building is well maintained courtesy of the Village Hall Committee and is currently booked for a variety of uses including a mobile Post Office and keep fit.
In terms of transport, Welwyn North Railway Station is just a couple of minutes down the road and there is an occasional daily bus service through the hamlet serving routes to/from Welwyn/Welwyn Garden City & Hertford.
Burnham Green is served by several primary schools in the neighbouring villages of Datchworth, Tewin and Digswell. Secondary schools are located in the neighbouring towns of WGC, Hertford and Stevenage.
